1979
ESTA begins its Living History Theater programs in the Bronx. Hodson Drama Group honored in a film, "The Women of Hodson," shown on public television.

1980
ESTA presents its first annual Living history Festival with five drama groups in the Bronx.

1981
A stage for Memory, a book based on ESTA‰?ús work, is published by Teachers & Writers Collaborative.

1982
ESTA moves to the Brookdale Center on Aging/ Hunter College school of Social Change.

1983
ESTA goes City-wide. Model Life Review at the St. Albans VA Hospital, Chinatown historical project, in Queens- a Living History Theater Project about the Holocaust.

1984
ESTA's first city-wide Living History Theater Festival, with ten senior center drama groups. Nursing home program for the frail elderly started. Intergenerational program with New York City School system begun.

1985
ESTA named OUTSTANDING ORGANIZATION IN THE U.S. IN THE FIELD OF ARTS & AGING by the National Council on Aging. ESTA produces training videotape, Elder Voices- award from National Film Festival on Aging.

1986
ESTA moves to expanded offices in Brooklyn. Begins bi-lingual Hispanic program in the Bronx and Manhattan. Produces Life Review Training Manual for social service providers.

1988
Life Review Training Program begun at Hunter College School for Social Work. Expanded programming for populations including deaf visually impaired, older psychiatric clients & wheelchair bound.

1990
Pearls of Wisdom, elder storytellers created out of Living History Theater Groups.

1992
Rediscovering America- award winning multicultural intergenerational arts program and book, Generating Community-Intergenerational Arts.

1997
ESTA takes Manhattan, moves offices to the lower east side. Community Service Learning programs with the Board of Education- Alternative High Schools. Pearls of Wisdom open Reminiscence Festival with a performance in London.

1998
ESTA establishes Center for Creative Aging (CCA)- National training institute confirming its place as the leading arts and aging organization.

1999
Twentieth Anniversary Year.
